My 5 month old kicks, touches my face and when she gets irritated she will start slapping it or trying to gouge it. How long does this phase last? I understand is she growing and she seems to be feeling my face, but when she gets bored or suddenly irriated she kicks and slaps like crazy......by the end of the day my chest and lower face feel raw that I cannot stand for her to touch my once more! :dizzy:

lol! orange this post made me laugh! i know it's not a funny matter, its just that my dd does the exact same things to us! but whats worse is when i dont wear my contacts and have my glasses on she goes after those like crazy! my glasses are always dirty from her grubby little paws and wondering mouth. the bad thing is that she is so damn fast for being so small! lol! i hope that this is just a phase because they are surprisingly strong and by the end of the day it hurts!

Totally Orange, I hear ya too! My ds is 4 and 1/2 months old and is a very strong boy. When I am nursing him he likes to wind up and smash his fist against my chest or face. Sometimes I get a fingernail scrap down my skin that actually draws blood. I have "passed" him off to people many times just so I don't have to feel him hit me or kick at my stomach and boobs or wiggle around constantly anymore. This is perfectly normal though. My first ds did this as well and by the time they are about 18 and out of the house it will stop! LOL
All joking aside though, I think Caden was about 8 or 9 months old when this stopped but then a whole new set of issues started. There will always be one thing or another. Just try to focus on the smiles and coos and wet kisses. :)

Just wait until you get a cut INSIDE your nose from their sharp little finger nails.

Yup. Spencer is 4 1/2 months, and loves to flail his arms and legs around. When he's calm, it's very nice to have his little baby hand resting on my breast or cheek ... but when he gets going waving them around, it's dangerous!
