Hello,

My daughter is almost 8. Her dentist has recommended dental expanders. Macy has spastic left hemiplegia and is also affected mentally. She has some emotional control problems that are intensified in sistuautions like being at the dentist.

We went for an appointment Wednesday and the dentist gave her Versed to calm her. This resulted in a rough time for her. Her control problems became much worse. We could not complete the appointment.

The dentist wants to try again with a higher dose of versed in an effort to put her to sleep this time.

My questions are:

1) Does anyone on this board have any experience with this drug? Also, I should mention that Macy takes topamax for simple partial seizures.

2) Does anyone have experience with dental expanders. Are they painful, etc.

Thanks so much,

Gary
