I just had emergency surgery for an Eptopic Pregnancy and am wondering if anyone out there has been through this and has conceived through invetro?? Is there a board that deals with this stuff?? I am really looking for someone to relate to:0(

Hi,
sorry to hear what happened
The infertility board is very good, and i know many on there have had and are having IV treatment, so may be able to offer support.
Ive never been through what you described myself, but just to offer some reassurance, my friend had an ectopic pregnancy which resulted in her fallopian tube having to be removed and she now has two beautiful sons:angel:

hi sunnyaa, I had an ectopic in March this year, the most traumatising experience I have ever been through so my heart goes out to you and I hope you are getting tons of support now. I am not sure of the specifics of your surgery but I had a right salpingectomy (fallopian tube removed but ovary left alone) and I had nightmares about being 50% fertile and it taking me years to conceive naturally and I actually was pg again within 3 months - although I had a m/c it was not apparantly related. It was explained to me brilliantly by the Trust in the UK that deals with ectopics that I still have 100% fertility but only 75% opportunity, so if you are 1 tube down you should be the same. Can I just say primarily please try to recover a little before you get too focussed on TTC again - I didn't, wanted to be back to work whilst still hobbling around bent in two, and wanted to be pg again immediately, and I now find that the shock and distress can hit me any day out of the blue as though it were all yesterday. My thoughts are with you take care xx
