Any recommendations as to what a person should ask when visiting the Gynecologist about Menopause?
Thanks

Well, Coffeegirl, if it's been awhile since you last saw a Gyno, mention what kind of periods you've been having, what menopause symptoms you have, what are the possible treatments you can get, and if you can get several tests done such as mamogram, pap smear, pelvic examination, FSH, and if you have symptoms of a slow thyroid, ask for those too.
I recently had these done, but I don't know if this is what you will require.

Rather than asking about menopause in general, try to ask questions that directly relate to how you are feeling and symptoms you are experiencing that you think may be related. Also, ask questions about treatments and their risks. This will give you the opportunity to find out how well informed your doctor is and if she/he is going to give you the type of help you are seeking. (For instance if you are interested in seeking a more natural approach and your doctor only believes in synthetic HRT and thinks vitamins and supplements are a waste of time.)
