Ok I was reading on a web site about HPTs and how they work and all of that and I think i'm more confused than ever. According to this web site a females body generally will make 25 miu of hCG about 10 days after conception.
If that is true how can a test that detects 100 miu's claim to be accurete up to 5 days before your period. Am I missing something here?

You are right - those figures don't seem to add up! I thought that early pregnancy tests were looking for as little as 20 mIU, not 100 mIU in which case on your stats would make it possible to get a + result just before 10 days after ovulation (or 5 days before your period as you say)...I think it must be 20-25 mIU detectable, not 100 mIU (but I am no expert!!).
If you have an early test, it should state somewhere in the literature how much they detect? I will check mine and report back also!

I never even thought that the web site could have the wrong amounts that is a good point. I'll have to check my tests when I get home.
