I was just wondering if anyone knew if eye emams and/or glasses were covered by medicare. I looked in my phone book, but none indicated whether they did or not.

I believe they cover an eye exam every year or two, but i don't think they cover glasses. I'd just call up an eye doctor and ask them to find out for sure.

It depends on the State. Benefits are Covered in 41 states. Not covered in 10 States. For example : Michigan's covage is,1 pair/2 years, minimum diopter correction required for initial and replacement eyeglasses, replacements within 2 years only if eyeglasses lost or unusable, contact lenses and special lenses for specified medical conditions. Other states are not as liberal.

Again, check with your Optometrist in your state.
