Hi! My dh and I are going to start TTC. How long before we
start trying should I start taking a prenatal vitamin? If I start
today, should I wait a cycle to start trying? Thanks for any
ideas!

From what I know, as long as you follow a healthy lifestyle, it really doesn't matter...I started taking a multi vitamin about a month ago ( I was told by my doctor to start with that, then once I conceived, to go to prenatal). This is my 2nd cycle TTC. If you eat healthy and take care of yourself (no drinking, smoking) then you can start TTC now and start taking a multi vitamin as well. :)

You can start taking prenatal vitamins at any point while TTC (before or at some point duirng the process is fine). Many women prefer prenatal vitamins over a general multi-vitamin because they think it makes their hair and nails grow faster. You don't need to wait a cycle after starting the vitamins.

It's really up to you and your personal preference!

I went for my yearly OBGyn appt in January, I told my Dr that we wanted to start TTC in May. My OB said that I should start prenatals in May......it wouldn't hurt to start them before you get PG i guess....

Good Luck..........Baby Dust
