I have oily eyelids and it is causing a big problem for me. I don't like to wear liquid eyeliner to work everyday because I think it is too dramatic, so I wear pencil on my top lid. By 11 am my eyeshadow is beginning to crease and get darker in my crease(due to the black eyeliner). I need help, I've tried almay, revlon, and shiseido pencil eyeliners and I am getting increasingly frustrated. I usually put powder on my eyelid as a primer however that just gives me 20 extra mins of lasting power. I don't want something tooo pricey (baby on the way )

Hi Aj207,

Use an eyeshadow primer made specifically to go on your eyelids. Don't use foundation, moisturizer, or concealer. Most people have eyelids that are somewhat oily. Eyeshadow primers are designed to resist that oil and keep shadow on all day-foundations and concealers are not made for the same purpose so they don't work in the same way. Clinique makes something called Touch Base which is excellent. Its about £8 i think.

Hope this helps:)

I have the same problem! The only thing that seems to work for me is to use a loose shimmer eyeshadow under the eyeliner. Loreal Illumination works great for this.. I don't really like the container it comes in with the built in brush.. so I just pour some out and use my own brush. The shimmer in it seems to keep my eyelids from getting oily. There are lots of other brands that will work also, even Maybelline roller color works for this.

When I put on a soft eyeliner over this shadow, it lasts all day and only fades a little bit. I don't put any on the bottom, but I do on the bottom inner rim so I don't get smudgy eyes! I just usually have to reapply it on this area if my eyes water or anything.

Hope this helps and works for you too! I pretty much never use regular pressed eyeshadow anymore because it seems to crease more easily and my eyeliner will smear more.

Here's a very cheap and effective solution -- Milk of Magnesia . Just put a little bit on a cotton ball and wipe a thin layer over your eyelids before applying makeup. It contains magnesium, which is what many oil-control makeups have in them. Make sure it's the regular flavor, not cherry or mint, and shake well before applying. It works great also as a primer under your face makeup to absorb oil all day.
