I have been fighting with weight for years..up and down, up and down...now, for the past two weeks i've eaten the same thing everyday
Special K/Skim Milk (Breakfast)
Fruit (Snack)
Slim Fast Shake (Lunch)
Chicken Breast (Dinner)
Maybe another bowl of cereal before bed if I'm hungry.
I tae bo 32 minutes a day...

My hair started to fall out...I thought I was eating more than enough? can someone help..i feel like if i eat more, i'll get fat..

Sometimes people's hair does fall out if they don't eat enough, but I think it takes more than 2 weeks for that to happen. Are you under other stress? The hair-loss may not even be related to your new diet. How do you feel otherwise?

Your hair is probably falling out because you are not eating enough and also not consuming enough fat. You probably barely get 10 grams a day! Your body needs fat to keep your hear and skin healthy. Also, fat creates our female hormone, so females get their periods once a month. Eating the same thing everyday is not good either. The body needs a variety of foods to get the necessary vitamins and minerals required for good health. Try eating other healthy things for meals, and add more healthy fat. There are many nutrition websites that can help you with this. If you are tired and hungry, listen to your body, its telling you to stop starving yourself. We all need support too; posting messages and responding on this board helps. Try to talk to someone close to you if you can.

Thanks, i will search around for more healthy fat...i thought I was eating enough, I feel somewhat OK, I feel full....my hair isn't gone, but I notice it coming out a lot more in the shower...

Cutelilsunflower: I agree with Emilia. The hairloss is a sign that your body is not getting enough fat. My daughter Julia lost weight too fast. She was eating around 5-600 calories a day. Her hair started falling out and she lost her period. Your body needs fat grams (25-30 grams) a day to maintain appropriate body functions. 1200 calories a day is considered starvation. Julia's counselor has set 2000 calories a day for her. She is doing very well now and is looking so much more healthy. Her hair is getting fuller again and her skin and muscles are toned. It might help you to see a counselor or nutritionist to help you work out a diet plan to gradually increase a variety of foods and levels of fat back into your diet.

Keep us posted on how you are doing. I will pray that God will give you the will power to resist the thoughts about weight gain. You can conquer this.
