Hi all,

1st posting and Im after some advice - I have to take a HIV test for fertility treatment. My OH whom I have been with for 3.5 years is HIV negative - during the 3.5 years we have never used protection ever. I am still however so worried about mine coming back as Negative. My previous partners before him I always practised safe sex - so what are my chances. I know even if I had fallen pregnant naturally I'd have been tested but I am having real problems getting my head around it all! Surely in 3.5 years if I was positive I'd have transmitted it to him by now?

Assuming you both have been monogamous in the past 3.5 yrs, that he tested negative (how soon before you two hooked up?) and that you are honest that you have been practising safe-sex prior to your current partner, then why would even consider you might test positive? Let's see:
partner tested negative - possibilities = 0
you practised safe sex before him possibilities = 0
chances that you are postive
(if everyone is telling the truth) = 0
OK? chris

Hmmm, you are worried that your test will come back negative? Well, I know what you really meant... It sounds like you will be fine based on your history. Best of luck to you!

Ronnie
