Hi!! I haven't been to the boards in a while. After I had my first baby (a boy now 2!!) I have been really busy.

Me and DH have decided to try for baby #2. It took us 8 months to get pg with first baby. This is only our second month of ttc.

I was just wondering if any of you ladies had a hard time ttc the second time around. The nurse at my Dr's office said it might be easier this time because my body already knows what to do. What do you all think

Thanks

I have heard that second babies are often easier to conceive than first babies for the reason you mentioned. I have no personal experience as I am still TTC #1.

Good luck!

Thanks!

I hope it's true I'm trying to not get my hopes up. I remember the first time we tried, I would get upset everytime AF would show her ugly face. I really am just trying to let things happen this time and not think about it so much.

How long have you been trying? I hope it happens for you soon!!

Hi ! I too have a two year old daughter and she came in the first month of trying ! I am presently 10 weeks pregnant and it took dh and i 9 months this time around. I am also 35 years old now, which may have something to do with it. I am not sure about " the second one being easier thing " In my case, it sure wasn't !! Good things come to those who wait.

BEST OF LUCK TO ALL !!

Hi, I haven't been on this site in a long time.... I couldn't remember my password, so I had to re-sign back up...

I can tell you that for me...with my first child it took me 7 month's to get pregnant, and with my second it took me 8 month's. I'm ttc #3 and hope it won't take as long. I'm using Vitex and taking bbt's every morning... Have you tried that?? taking your temps??

Spreading baby dust...

I have heard both sides of the story, that #2 is easier and sometimes not. I've been working on #2 for 2.5 years. It took us 11months for #1. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with both DH and me, but we just can't seem to get pg.

I took vitex couple months ago (first time) and got pg (chemical pregnancy) and now I'm working on my third month on vitex.

good luck to you.

Hi with my son I became pregnant by accident. So it was a first try for us that time. Now he is 2 1/2 and we have been trying to conceive. The first 2 trys have failed so I hope trying this third month does the trick. I wanted them 3 years apart and totally expected to get pregnant the first try. Now it seems they may be further apart than I wanted. Good luck with your TTC efforts!

I am nervous about the same thing! We just decided to start for #2 also and it took us 12 months for the first one who is now 12mths old. I truely hope that what they say about the second one easier than the first, it was so stressful last time, wasn't it.

Thanks for all of your replys. I really do hope it is easier this time around. The first time was awful. After a couple months of trying, I remember DH thinking the only reason I ever wanted to bd was because I wanted a baby so bad. I must say that did have a lot to do with it. I don't want him to feel that way again. I'm trying not to talk about it or think about it and just let thinks happen. That's just so hard to do.

Baby dust to all!!

sophie

now that you decided to TTC for #2, why don't you tell your DH that around ovulation time, he will "have" to do it for the baby, but any other time will be just for fun. This way he doesn't feel 'used', lol. good luck. We got preggo on our first try and will start again soon.

To be honest I guess I am a little more eager around O time. I guess I will just try to act the same all month instead of just a few days. I'm sure he will like that.

Thanks!
