I'm currently taking topamax and prozac for migraines (topamax for migraines, prozac for the irritability caused by the topamax) and i'm starting to experience dry eyes. I've dealt with the dry mouth aspect of it all (biotene products for my gums and teeth) but now i need to deal with my eyes. I drink 80 to 100 oz of water a day for the topamax so I'm not dehydrated. I'm a vegetarian so I have a pretty good diet. I do live in southern CA where it's rather dry and about to move to Colorado in the new year where I'm sure the dry eye will be even worse. I have humidifiers in the home (programmable). I've started to use Clear eyes for dry eyes in the day time and Tears Naturale Forte at night.
I also take allergy/asthma meds and live in southern CA where the pollution level is quite high. Right now we're in fire season and there's a very ugly group of fires nearby so the air quality is even worse than normal.
I'd like to hear from others who use these drugs or similar ones and how they cope with dry eye, or others who have tips on how to cope. I expect to be on the meds for a while at least. the combo is really working to eliminate my migraines which I've had at least every other day for 10 years.
