It's been a few weeks since I have posted anything. I have not been checking in here due to the fact that I am currently doing only alternative treatment. And I did not want to post off topic.
If you recall my colon cancer is back, this time in my Liver. I told my Oncologist thanks but NO THANKS this time to chemo. I'm going to give the Alt plan a try for awhile.
My conventional Doctor informed me that I am not a candidate for liver resection due to the location of the spots on my liver. Two spots, one on each lobe, in the center and deep. Liver Specialist say's they can do RFA on the spots and it is set up for Oct 17th. Kind of scary listening about the talk of having to go thru my lung with the RFA probe to get a good angle at the liver spots!
Has anyone here had RFA done? If so, how was your experince? Bossan do you have any input on this one?
So for now I am just doing alt treatment. Strict diet, raw veggies only, FO/CC, juicing, exerecise, supplements out the wazoo! and using the VIBE machine.
I have only been on this routine for a few weeks, so its to early to tell if it is having any effect yet. My last CEA count was 9.3 I will get one done before the RFA treatment, hopefully it will have gone down. And then another CEA after the RFA procedure. My plan is to just continue doing my alt treatment plan and watching my CEA.
God Bless All

Glenn, I know of some folks on the Web MD colorectal cancer support group who have had great response to RFA, and it was very well tolerated.
I would really look into it. I think they can freeze it, too, but I do not know if they can do this in the location where the tumors are.
This cryosurgery thing is now being done for kidney cancer - I would ask about that, too.
But from what I understand, the RFA thing works pretty well.
Can they do a surgery if they shrink them down with RFA ?

Glenn,
I have only done chemo and some naturopathic treatments. I just got all my medical records and I'm going to look into those things you mentioned as I have only one spot on the liver. This was since my Aug. 1 CT scan and I haven't had chemo since July 10. I'm getting a break but I'll get another CT scan in 2 weeks and see if anything has moved. I guess that will influence the course of the next treatment....
As someone already said, what is the VIBE?

Impactzone, Jeni61 and Bossan,
Jeni61 - I understand Cryosurgery to be old tech and not used anymore. After RFA, surgery would still not be an option, however it is hopeful that after the RFA treatment that a good margin would have been acheived, but resection is the gold standard treatment. In my case I have two spots 1.5cm and 1.8cm. The RFA probe will burn a 4 cm spots with one deployment. Thus a 2cm margin.

VIBE stands for Vibrational Integrated Bio-photonic Energizer.
VIBE-machine has a web site or Google vibe machine if ya want all the details. You can find someone in your area that has one to use.
The VIBE machine is an electronic device that brings the vibrational level of your body back to its natural state of being.

Have you heard of Bill Henderson or cancertutor, lots of good reading to be done.
Good luck and God Bless!

Glenn:
Is the Vibe machine the same as RIFE therapy? I did that with acupuncture and herbs a while back.
As for RFA, I know it can be quite effective with minimal lateral thermal damage. This is often the problem... imprecise cutting together with necrosis of surrounding tissue. From memory, I recall RFA was VERY promising for liver resection. I believe that I have an article kicking around somewhere that I had saved... If I can readily find it, I will post further information for you.
Best of Luck.:)

I did go to a place here in Oregon, Chelsea's Sanctuary, and they had several variations of those machines. Thanks for reminding me, I'll go back there soon.

Thanks, I'll check that out. I'm also looking for the micro-brew, preferably porter or stout, cure for cancer. If its not out there, I'll may have to invent it, cheers!

he glen and all
have been away again so am trying to catch up on new postings.
Glen, have not heard about VIBE here in uk but we do have RFA. This was not offered to husband when he was originally diag already at stage 4. At that point we were told he was inoperable. They used chemo (oxaliplatin/5fu/lucrovin) and after 6 cycles they decided to go for the resection. He had muliple tumors afftecting 7 of the liver segments ( i think there are 9 ??? ) but the chemo had shrunk them enough for the resction to be successful. They took most of the large lobe and half the small lobe. It took a long time for him to recover but is still here to tell the tale :bouncing: hurrah.
I hope your RFA goes well. I will look out for your posts as I have not been in contact with anyone here in UK who has had it done.
good lick

Hi erladyaz,
Thanks for the info on Therasphere. I learn something new everyday. I hope that it is the trick for you and takes care of everything all by itself. When are you expecting to have the procedure done? Keep us posted.
Good Luck & God Bless

Hey Impactzone,
I wanted to check with you and make sure that you are on a good diet. It is very VERY important!!! My Doctors did not tell me anything about getting on a strict diet after my surgery. Jeez!! I lost alot of wieght 160 down 118, so i started eating all kinds of stuff. Alot of it i should not have been eating.
If you have not picked up any books on the Cancer Diet I would encourage you to do so ASAP. I could tell ya a few really good ones that I have read. There are also alot of other things you can do on your own to boost your Immune System, You want to get your Immune System in the best condition you can.
Do you know what your CEA # was prior to your 9/1 surgery and what it is now?
My CEA # was 23 before surgery, after surgery it was very low, then 6 months later while getting checked before last Chemo round , it jumped to 9.0 on 8/25/06
I have not been doing any chemo since Sep 9 I will be getting another CEA test just befoe my 10/17 RFA procedure.
