Based on the current data, it appears as though a post-13 week test is conclusive becuase of what we know of sero-coversions and the way the virus replicates. I know thirteen is an odd number, but it does appear to be the CDC standard. Now, there is that troublesome issue about stastics and that is that there is always a 'margin for error'. Thus, while most people are happy with the 13 week results, many prefer to be tested after six months as well. However, the consistent standard for determining status is the there is back-up plan. THe initial test is called ELISA. If the ELISA tests results are positive, then there is a back-up confirmation test and that is called the WESTERN BLOT.

DOes this help? chris

Everytime you've been tested, it's been negative.

You've been tested recently, three YEARS after the last exposure... and you tested negative.

What more do you want?

Woah, sorry.

I thought you meant that you were concerned that perhaps the tests that you've already had were unreliable.

You're fine, stop worrying, live your life and just be careful.

Uh, Bubba is just trying to help. The fact is that you've tested negative so, the question is when will you be satisfied with your negative results.

How do you get rid of the fear that will always be in the back of your mind? Some people trust the test results, some people don't. Some people have the faith that they're OK, some don't. Some people see this as part of the journey and use it as a stepping stone to enlightenment. And, some don't. And, then again, some people wonder how they can make this scary situation into something positive. And, of course, some people don't. chris
