Well it's me again. Its been 3 months since my cheilectomy. And everyday I have horrible pain. I don't know whats wrong. This morning I woke up and Im all swelled and cant hardly walk. Does anyone know what is going on. Arent you suppose to get better as time goes on? Im going through PT and I dont know if this will work or not. I wish I could talk to someone that has experinced the same trouble as I am having. Please let me know whats going on with my foot.

Thanks Lisa

Did you do PT or exercises as soon as your sutures were out? If not, then it's probably scar tissue causing the problem and that's going to be tough to get past. Does it hurt on the top - like it did before the surgery - or on the bottom?

I did my exercises a few weeks after the surgery. He had me do the alphabet with my toes. And I did that 2 times a day. Im so frustrated because its been 3 months and Im not getting better. What do they do if theres scar tissue? Can they clean it up or not? THANKS

Gosh...never heard of doing that! With mine and everyone else I know that had this they have you pull on the toe and move it up and down...many reps, many times a day. I have read that ultrasound will sometimes help to break up scar tissue. But you certainly weren't moving it enough if that's all you did. Could be something else but does sound like scar tissue is a disctinct possiblity. Ask your physical therapist about the ultrasound. They usually know more than the docs anyway! Godd luck!
