Hi there. My DD is 15 months (yesterday) and she has been pushing molars for some time now. How long does it typically take for those darn things to pop through? She has these huge bumps on her lower jaw - still nothing and they have been this way for like what feels like forever - but it's only been about 1.5-2 months. The tops ones doesn't appear the same and you can feel the surface of the molar easier with the tops ones and the huge bump isn't there like on the bottoms. She is miserable. Teethers - don't work much. Cold stuff to drink - helps....but that only lasts for so long. I do give her Motrin at bed time - helps with her sleeping - but how long does this last. Her previous teeth didn't seem so difficult of time consuming.......I know every baby is different - but it seems like it is going on forever......YIKES!

I dont know when they started erupting for my son, but at 11 mo I could see tiny white tips and extremely red area, now 3mo later, they are FINALLY fully erupted. So I know what you mean, it took a really long time. And he is still salivating like mad. I started puting a bib on him again. Luckly for us, he hasn't been bothered by them as much, he only needs to be chewing on something constantly. Sometimes I feel like I have 2 dogs, not one, my son occasionally fights w/ the dog over who will chew on a toy, lol.
So if you still can't see them, I'm afraid it may still be a while, but hopefully the pain won't last much longer. Good luck.

Thanks for your input.....I can only hope they come sooner than later. It has been a while.....but it sounds like not long enough. The DR said she is pushing all 4 at the same time (two top - two bottom). Poor kid :(

Sue,

I don't have any good advice but I can empathize. We have been going through that very same thing for over a month. Two of the bottom molars have finally pushed through. I am hoping that the sleepless nights will end soon.

Jen-
How long did it take for them to push through? In other words when did you notice the bumps on the gum line and about how long after that did you actually see the tooth? It seems like forever!! Yikes huh?

No I appreciate the information actually - it helps.....I just wish they would come through so that she wouldn't be bothered by them anymore.
