Hi everyone. I just recently went to have an HIV test done. (Today as a matter of fact) Let me tell you why, back in August I had about 7 seconds of unprotected sex with a guy I had been seeing. (yup, only 7 seconds) Up to that point we ALWAYS used a condom. On this particular day, he entered me for a few seconds and then pulled out almost immediately. We didn't continue because we didn't have a condom. Now, I am paranoid beyond belief that he has given me something. We no longer talk to each other, our relationship ended about two weeks ago. I am scared and everyone keeps telling me I am overreacting!! I don't know what to do!! I think a lot of my fear has to do with my step sister being diagnosed with full blown AIDS about a month ago. *sigh* No fluids were exchanged (obviously in seven seconds) but i can't shake my paranoia..

Any thoughts/advice would greatly be appreiciated.

Hey,

Firstly, I'm sorry to hear about your sister being ill. It must be really terrible to have to go through that as a family.

I think it's very unlikely that you contracted HIV from this encounter, but you're doing the right thing by getting tested anyway - just to make sure and put your mind at rest.

It's understandable that you'd be so afraid and paranoid about HIV, after your sisters' recent diagnosis. Unfortunately those doubts and worries won't go away until you finally see the results on paper, then you can breathe a sigh of relief! Until then, just try to be as brave and rational about this as you can be. You're not alone, there are dozens of people who post on this board every day with the same fears as you.

I hope that you find the support you need on here to help you through this difficult time.

Take care

Thank you for your kind words, both for me and my sister.
