Thanks to all of you who take the time out of your difficult lives to post here and help others.
I had my colonoscopy this morning and everything is good. Although they did not find the source of my rectal bleeding, (thought for sure they would find hemorrhoids), I will be doing some fecal cards in a couple of weeks and we will go from there.
Again, thank you for helping others, like me..........Take care everyone!

Congratulations! That is great news! Good for you for getting your colonoscopy. I hope they can find the source of your discomfort/bleeding.
Go celebrate!

This is just a thought but are you wiping too hard? Sometimes you can irritate the skin around and cause bleeding. If the blood is from higher up in the digestive tract like small intestine or stomach it would probably be dark blood.

The blood is deep red and there is quite a bit of it, relatively speaking. It soaks through the toilet paper, although it doesn't discolor the water. The other day I thought I got it all but it seeped out later and soaked through a pair of underware and into my pants.........uck!
I have had some bloodwork done also, so maybe that will help point to a cause.

Danialla:
Your GI should have booked you for an upper endoscopy given the darker colored blood. You could very well have a bleeding ulcer.
It IS good news that the colonoscopy came back negative, but you DO really need to find the source of the bleeding. You can actually lose A LOT of blood with a bleeding Duodenal or Gastric Ulcer. Try eating bland foods, and staying away from alcohol and see if it gets better.
Good Luck,
