Hi Everyone Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with taking arthritis meds for fibro. I have tried everything that I know of to alleviate the pain but just on a whim yesterday I bought some over the counter tylenol for arthritis pain It did take the edge off a bit Anyone have any luck with prescription strength meds? i used to use it faithfully years ago. 2 in the morning and 2 at night. i found after a couple of weeks the pain ws better. you have to be really consistent with it and i'm not sure how safe it is to take tylenol for along period of time. check with a pharmacist or your dr.

hi sue,
anti inflamatories are used to help alleviate the inflamtion of fibro. if it helps you, use it. be wise in how much you take. there are prescription meds. many of them to choose from. my doc says if i could take them it would help. i am allergic to them all. i have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis along with fibro, cmp, 3 strokes and so much other stuff i always forget. giggle.
in reality nothing really makes the pain go away. not any pill that is. i get more out of meditation and staying active.
talk to your doctor. if they help, it is worth it. this is your body and only you can decide what is best.
peace,

I've done a lot of research, talked to a lot of people with FMS (fibromyalgia syndrome). It seems that everyone has tried all the meds the docs usually prescribe and still not much relief. My doctors always want to put me on at least 3 different antidepressants at one time to counter the pain. The problem is that they all contribute to fatigue and I'm already so tired I can hardly stand it some days. What good will it do me if I'm relatively pain free but too tired to move out of bed. I have found that Relefen, an anti inflammatory helps some. But it has a history of damaging the kidneys, so I'm careful of how long I take it. Like Blue Lake says, mind over matter is one of the best ways to handle it. Bio feedback therapy is a great aid in this.:)

they had to go in in neck put doner bone and plate and screws to hold it. then turned me over and had to trim the bone it was closing up on spinal cord .i almost didnt make it but my other option was walking around knowing one fall the wrong could parlize me from neck down .so decided to have the surgery but ive been worse with arthritis and fibro since then. fooggymist
