Sorry everyone, i have been sick with ear inf. so i havent been on in a few days.Anyway, I am walking a little more without the crutch in my sneaks, but my good leg still will not walk normally. I keep lifting it higher than usual when I take a step. Its really hard to describe. It doesnt make sense to me that i can walk normally on my bad leg but my good leg just does what it wants too. I try so hard to concentrate and will it to be normal. Ive tried walking fast and slow and its the same. The only time It works right is when i am holding on to something. Does this make sense? Any ideas?? I have pt in a few hours and im not sure what she is going to think when she sees me. last week she said i would get an almost normal gait in few days, but im not even close. I dont want her to think im not doing my exercises at home because i am trying really really hard. Any advice is welcome.

Hey Congrats on walking!! It took sometime for me to walk normally, so don't be so hard on yourself. My mother says I still limp a little and favor the good leg, but I don't see that. Anyway, my love of shopping is what really improved my walking skills. When I first started walking again it was one step (bad leg) and dragging the good leg. It stayed like that for awhile. Then when I got strong enough to walk around stores, I would walk and push a shopping cart. Pushing the cart helped me get down the one foot in front of another. Eventually, I got use to walking the correct way, and gained strength walking. Well, I wish you the best of luck!!!

I never thought of that but I love to shop too. Ill give it a go. It makes sense because i seem to be able to use both feet when I am holding on to something, even if i am not using it to hold my weight.thanks-margek
