I had a Colonoscopy that went wrong on the 5th sept, I was so scared of taking the prep and the test, And when they mucked up the test that had me in tears I was so down about them not finishing it.
That is why I have to have this barium enema, In the morning I have got to take that evil prep again, I dont know If I can do it, I feel that I have had it with tests and not getting anywhere, I did get told on friday that I have ovarian failure and that I will not have anymore periods within one year!! I am 41 and its another Autoimmune Disease going on ,I also have a underactive thyroid.

I have been having bowel problems and lots of pain,I know that I know that I need to take the evil prep in 9 hours time and go for the test on thursday morning but I am so scared that this test will hurt and go wrong, My dear dad died of bowel cancer at the age of 61 and so did his mum.

I am so sorry this is happening to you. I'm not real familiar with this barium test. Am I correct to assume it involved more than taking a chalky drink at the hospital?

If there is anything I can do to help let me know, when do you have to start taking this prep work? what time???

Thankyou both for being here for me, the prep is the same as it is for the colonoscopy I just took the frist one and am feeling very anxious.
the prep is harder this time, you have to stop eating a lot of foods and no cups of tea for two days before... Mandy

Is it normal to feel a pain in your bum, I am so scared it feel like presure, I havent been yet I took the prep a hour again getting lots of nosies in my belly !!

I had a barium enema about 15 years ago and to the best of my memory it was not bad. The worst part was trying to hold it in when I wanted to let it out!! Hope it goes ok with you.
