I like gloMineral powder - loose powder & compact. Despite the name, it isn't shiney. There are quite a few other brands of mineral powder makeups. I also saw some posts here talking about translucent powder that didn't add color, just managed shine. I used to wear liquid foundation but haven't worn it since switching to gloMineral powder. My complexion is much better since switching, so no makeup days are now literally no makeup days. Love those no makeup days!

Most of the regular poweders settle into wrinkles unfortunately.
I agree, your best bet is to go for a mineral makeup powder. I personally don't like spending a TON of money on makeup and don't order stuff online, so I buy the Phyisician's Forumal Mineral Wear loose powder (you can find it at a lot of drug stores). It's about $10 and it works wonderfully for me.
I used to wear liquid foundations religiously and even after moisturizing it would still clog my pores and I had to exfoliate every single night (literally).
Now I don't use liquie foundations anymore at all since you don't have to with mineral make up (unless you need a lot of extra coverage).
This stuff is relatively cheap, healthy for skin, and it takes like 2 min to apply.
You should definitely give mineral makeup a try.

Jane Iredale or BE are good choices and they both have physical sunscreen. And will not settle into wrinkles, unless you ut to much on.

i just treated myself to all new almay products. i only buy skin are and make-up once a year so this was it. bought their aging skin line of skin care and their line minimizing cosmetics. used the powder for the first time yesterday and was amazed. used a brush instead of the puff and it didn't cling to any of the lives around my eyes and nose. have used bare minerals and love it but if my face is even a lttle dry it will cling to everything. i also loved their day cream. a real niceproduct and i have used everythign from vaseline to high priced dept store products. like the almay the best so far.did an eval on their website before i went shopping. glad i did or i would've bought their dry skin line and not their aging- skin.

Definitely make sure to use good brushes with mineral makeup. It makes a huge difference. I'll admit that I didn't buy the kabuki brush or whatever it is called. I bought a cheaper version for only $5 but it is very soft and works great. If the brush isn't soft, then it might go on cakey and not look as natural and flawless looking. A lot of makeup places can also show you how to apply it if it doesn't seem like it's working well for you.

MAC has a powder that I will live by as long as I live called StudioFix. It's perfect coverage but in powder form; it wont settle into wrinkles.

ICC what you said about it "clinging to everything" i have to exfoliate every day or there will be old, dead, flakes and when i used foundation of any brand, it just clinged to any little flake and putting it on and rubbing seems to create more flakes, i haven't bought anything yet, my arm is in a cast, i wonder on my lst try of mineral make up i could put it on with my left hand, lol, i'm going to walgreen's and wal-mart this week end to restock on make-up, i can't afford the expensive stuff right now

thx for all the suggestions:blob_fire i love, love trying new products

kj,
Get the physicans formula mineral if you can't afford more expensive. Just remember it has no spf so make sure your moisturizer has a sunscreen.
