View Full Version : Foot cramp at night (Is there a cure?)

I've had this problem all my life. When I sit in a slightly uncomfortable position, and most often while I'm in bed at night, and even while I'm asleep, there's a long muscle along the big toe side of my foot that starts to tense up with sharp pain and, if I don't move it right away or try shaking my foot vigorously, it will get worse and worse and become unbearable! Then it stays that way for 5 to 10 minutes. During that time, all I can do is grab my toes and pull upward against the muscle spasm (or whatever it is), and it doesn't allow me to do anything else. I worry about something like this happening when I'm out in public, or while driving!

I'm sure others have experienced this. Does anyone know what the cause of this foot cramping is, and more importantly, what the cure is? Is it from the lack of certain nutrients I should be taking? Or maybe something else?
