Hey, I'm going today to get my hair cut.. but I have no idea what to do with it. I haven't had it cut in about 6 months because i have no clue. As I said in a previous post I am kinda doing my own makeover and i'm at the hair part of it. My hair is currently pretty long.. about half way down my back. It's very, very, very thick. And it is also naturally wavy. My face is oval shapped and i'm a little chubby lol. I don't want short hair.. no shorter than shoulder length. But i'm debating on whether i should keep it long and get it straightned.. keep it long and get some sort of perm put it in.. Or cut it short and get it straightned. I'm guessing since my hair is so thick that a perm wouldn't be a good idea. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you thought about highlights at all? They can help frame a face, and it isn't really drastic, which I'm sure you don't want a big change since you have had the same hair style for quite a while. You should get it cut shoulder length. It will have so much more volume etc.
Good luck!

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I have thought about highlights.. I was actually thinking about getting my hair cut just below shoulder length.... Getting it straightned since it is so wavy, getting long layers cut into it since my hair is so thick.. and maybe thinned to get the thickness down some too.. and also getting some highlights. What do you think?

Do you have a hair stylist you trust? If not, ask some people close to you who they would recomend... Awhile ago I was in the same boat as you (although I went for almost a year without a cut). I went to a stylist that people in my area raved about and said "I don't want this, I don't want any shorter than that.. Aside from that, do what you think will look good".. I have to say I got the best haircut I've ever had that way! I've moved since then and haven't found a stylist here I trust, so I go in with planned out ideas and nothing ever looks right
