I have had a swollen node in the left side of my neck(a few mm's below ear and right behind jaw. It has been there for exactly a year. At the time I found it I saw two ER docs, family physician, oncologist;and a seurgeon who told me it was nothing. Then. February I found another on the right side of my neck.I saw a head and neck seugeon and he also said not to worry. I probably had a infection and they were pemanetly swollen. I constantly touch them and move them They hurt so bad here lately. They have always been tender. I had a chest x-ray done on July 30th of thiw year and it was prestine. Nothing abnormal. So, my question is if I had lymphoma or any other
cancer would'nt I be pretty sick and would'nt my chest x-rays shown something abnormal?I see a doctor on Tuesday, to voice my concern.Any info would be helpful.Thanks.

i think that you'd probably have symptoms by now... and if the node hasen't changed size i think it is nothing to worry about. that is my opinion, though. i constantly touch mine, too. it has caused me so much anxiety in the past month dealing with this. i went to get it biopsied today and everything looks ok.... read my other post for details about it. hope all is well! and good luck at the md's office. let us know how everything turns out

I would also agree that if you have not had any symptoms by now it was probably and infection that may have caused them, but since they are in your kneck area they should be realtively simple of biopsy, why not just ask for that?? Good luck!

Another thing to remember is that when you constantly touch the node it will cause it to remain enlarged. Try to leave it alone for 6 weeks and then recheck it very lightly. I have learned from different sources that lymph nodes are very sensitive. I also found one in my neck 7 months ago and after not touching it the node has gotten smaller. Hope this helps!!

Take care,

Debbie
