My birthday is this Sunday. I am going to be 36. I don't feel anything about it and am certainly not looking forward to it. Why celebrate a day when sometimes I regret being born? My fiance and I can't even afford to do anything special because the rent is due on the 1st. That leaves very little left over. I have moments of happiness, but basically when am I going to fall out of this and feel better.

I wish I had an answer for your question but no one knows what will help you feel better. Just know that you have things very special about you and your fiance can honor you on your birthday by doing something nice for you if you dont have the money. I know I would love a massage or foot rub. Maybe he can do some household chore for you and just treat you like a queen. Think you would like that?

Marshmellow is right, believe me I know how hard it is to find something
positive when you're depressed. Oh the stories I could tell you. To be 36
again, hmmmm, long time ago. Some of the best memories are made during
hard times. Here's something I did once. I asked my husband to make up a
dinner using what ever we had, I mean anything. Then I was blindfolded
and he fed me bites of what he conjured up. I had to guess it was. If
I was right I got a kiss. When I had guessed everything he made, well it was time for dessert. lol. By the way
HAPPY 36TH YEARS YOUNG TO YOU! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHING YOU A DAY OF FUN, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Awwwww.....((((((RONNNIE))))))!!! It wouldn't be right to tell you to be happy when you just can't feel that way. It's a bad moment and who says that you need to celebrate on a particular day!!:nono: I say that you celebrate your birthday on a different day, on the day that you know the meds are doing their thing and that the time is coming that you truly have to celebrate. IT's all up to you....my daughter had her 15th birthday the day she was discharged from the hospital and to this day she refers to it as her worst birthday!!! We had her friends over and they spent the day with her but she still thinks it was the worst birthday. And now that you mention how you feel I better understand....and you know what, now that she is feeling better....I am going to mail out some invites to her friends and have her celebrate it all over again....so that she will have a great memory of her 15th birthday!!:blob_fire
I know that you have a daughter and kids just seem to really naturally help you through the darkest moments. So on Sunday ask her to make you a special picture and to give you some extra hugs and then go out for a walk together and look at all the things around you that are gifts that don't cost a thing....like the fresh breeze, warm sunshine and fresh rainfall if it is doing so. What I would do with my daughters is say a sentence and see if they could say another that would rhyme taking turns with who started!!:D
Anyway.....you ARE special and I hope that your day is as well spending it with your fiance and daughter.

Ronnie- Kiehn shared some great ideas.
Sometimes spending time with a person we love is the most important time to cherish over anything else, along with laughing about the funny memories and silly things one did together in previous years. It brings joy, smiles, laughter, and tears. If that means baking a cake and frosting it together for your birthday (which could be a lot of fun actually), making homemade pizza, and renting a chick flick. Go for it!
Make some coupons up- backrub, footrub, cook dinner, etc., When you are ready, give them to your fiance and he is on the hook. This is a fun game to play.
Turning 36 is the new 27. That is how I viewed it when I turned 36 last year. You have had a very rough month. Try to do what you can to put it behind you and enjoy the day with your family or fiance. That is what is important.
Hang in there. You will be in my thoughts.
Have a wonderful birthday!!! :)

Thank you all for your encouragement and well meant advice. I woke up this morning and thought I am not going to be able to get out of bed tomorrow.
But once I get going, who knows? All I can say is I will try and let you all know how it goes. I do cherish those things important to me, including family. There is always another time to buy material things. The thing is because my car accident was a hit and run, my insurance had to fix my car ($500) deductible. I don't even have the money for that so I have to charge it on my credit card. I know I'm looking at the hole instead of the donut. I just have to wait to snap out of it. Thanks all again for your thoughts and well wishes.
