I have had bad experiences with BC pills, but I really need them for endometriosis and perimenopause. (I am 43 years old). Here's my story with Ovcon 35 after trying SOOO many others. Higher progestin causes me depression, anxiety, vaginal dryness and infections, so I thought a lower progestin and higher estrogen might help. My question is should I stick with this one another month to see if the side effects might go away?
Ovcon 35 makes me feel better with depression and anxiety. I had nausea and diarrhea the first couple of weeks that went away. My breasts were sore all month long. Made me a little irritable (silly things got on my nerves). I had cramping and light spotting the last week. And sex was very painful and crampy the last week. The IC seemed some better (I have interstitial cystitis). Vaginal infections seems better. Definitely the higher estrogen seems to work better for me. But I think I need a higher progestin because the endometriosis pain and cramping is definitely worse.

I went to the Doctor today, I told him about the cramps and horrible side effects, my period is heavy and still going on! Yuck!
He also wanted me try it for another couple of months, but I convienced him to change it just a little. I went from 35 mcg/.4 norethindrone to 35/mcg estrogen to 1.0 norethindrone. I will start that tonight. Thanks for the help. I will let you know if it is any better. It's so hard to find something that works. They all are going to have some sort of side effect I am affraid.
