Does anyone else suffer from muscle twitching? I used to think it was heart palpitations but I just got the results of wearing an event monitor for a few days and everything was normal. The twitching happens alot in my chest and stomach (especially at night while trying to sleep). Lately I have even had them in my left arm and my buttocks. I have been on Nexium for a year and tried not taking it for a few days to see if the twitching would subside, but it didn't. Now have gone back on Nexium and my doctor has prescribed a muscle relaxer to see if that helps. I sure hope it does, as I am sleep deprived many days as the twitching keeps me awake.

i've had muscle twitching and it's enough to make you crazy:dizzy:
especially at night when you are trying to sleep. I don't know what causes it I suspect nerves? but not certain. It comes and goes with me.
I've been making a point to take Magnesium every day sometimes twice a day; and I think that helps.
Plus try to stay hydrated.
I sip on water all day.

I also have a lot of muscle twitching. It is not in my stomach, but on my arms, hands, legs, and butt.
I also got a bunch of heart tests (because of the twitching and other weird symptoms) and ruled out the heart. I did a lot of research and couldn't find that it was related to heart problems, but did find that it could be associated with GERD.
Like the last poster, I have been on magnesium for the past week or so and it seems to be helping (but only a bit). Try that and let us know how it goes. Good luck.

Hi all -
I am back on Aciphex for my GERD and it really, truly seems to be
helping me. The constant belching is subsiding and the acid up
the throat isn't nearly as bad. Seems like my mouth is drier, which
is good. I had excess saliva prior to taking it - I guess it was water
brash from the excess acid in my stomach. Anyway, the only thing
that I have noticed is that I will sometimes get a weird facial muscle
spasm in my cheek. I don't know that it is related to the GERD, though -
never really correlated the two until now.
