Hi Everyone,
I had foot surgery on last Saturday to have a tumor removed. On the same day my doctor sent it in to the pathology lab. Today, my doctor called and said that the pathologist doesn't know what it is, and have ruled out a couple of things, so they're sending it to the Mayo Clinic. Does anyone know what this may mean? I am very nervous of what the results may be. Any advice will be helpful.
Thanks,
July

It means the local labs don't have the equipment to test for everything. When I had the last surgery on my foot, the sent a sample of the infections to the normal lab. they couldn't culture it, so they sent it to the state CDC. It did show was meds to put me on. When doc told me about the transferr to CDC, i was also concerned. It has worked out fine. Hope that helps

Thanks Mary,
Every since I received that telephone call, I can't sleep, or eat. I am so nervous, that I don't know what to do. I will keep you updated on my results.
