Has anyone had a chemical peel facial? I have had facial's............but my beautician recommended i get a chemical peel. This was yesterday........and today my skin is flaky..............DRY...........and kinda itchy! She said it would be red for about 24hrs. Also...............it BURNS incredibly bad!!! I almost felt sick when i was in there. Can someone please tell me their experience with this type of facial..............nothing was really explained to me................and i know i dont want to do it again. I will stick to the regualr facials. I also have very very sensitive/dry skin. She recommended this one for my skin due to fine wrinkles and clogged pore's.

Well, kinda like closing the barn door after the horses escape, but...

Never, ever, allow a beautician to give you a chemical peel. Yeah, sure, I know of "fool-proof" 50%/70%/90% glycolic peels that supposedly turn themselve "off" after five minutes. But, in the wrong hands, anybody can screw them up.

Next time, if there is a next time, go to a dermatologist or a medically supervised center. And, for heaven's sake, don't let anybody put anything on your face unless you know exactly what's in it.

Re: my personal experience with peels, I have been having them for years with good results.

Well i am very impressed with this salon...........i have had other stuff done there.............just not facials. This gal seemed really nolliagible (?sp)and evidentally worked for a dermatologist at one time. I had facial's done before at other salons..................NOTHING like this! I may go back to her...........just not get the chemical peel. I cannot tell you how sick i felt afterwards...................i had flu like symptoms and my head was spinning, nausea, and i was burning up. Just a really weird experince and ever since my skin is sooooo DRY! Thanxs for the info................:)
