Hi, I am a 39 yr old healthy female who went to my dr today because last night I had a one minute bout of minor blurry vision in both eyes...It happened immediately after I was rubbing my eyes because I had a minor headache.....I can replicate the blurriness if I press on my eyes for 20 seconds then open them.....Anyways, my dr paged the neurologist and Im still waiting to hear back....Was told to start aspirin therapy until I can get into see her and get another MRI with contrast (I just had a normal MRI but without the Gad contrast) just to make sure.
She thinks it could be nothing or a tia...she is just a general doctor and does not know of any other reasons of blurry vision, that is why she called the neurologist. Anyways, she is completely scaring me!!!! I had no other symptoms, just one minute of blurry vision, any ideas??? Can that isolated symptom really be a sign of a tia?
Thanks
K

just wanted let you know that my neurologist called me today and she kind of giggled at me...she said since my blurriness happenned immediately after I was rubbing/pressing on my eyes and since I can "reproduce" the blurriness by rubbing/putting pressure on my eyes for me not to worry. It was not a tia. She told me that when you rub/press on your eyes you are actually cutting off circulation, therefore causing the blurriness. She told me to not do it again! She also said to take aspirin every other day since I have occular migraines...apparently the low dose aspirin helps prevent stroke later in life, as people with migraines that have auras are more likely to have strokes. I think she said it might also help prevent some of the auras/migraine symptoms???
Anyways, just thought I would share my news.
