I just started taking Meridia yesterday and already it is taking effect!!! Yeah!!! Anyway, my question is has anybody out there taken this and drank alcohol. I have talked to my pharmacist, and a represtentative from Meridia and both of them tell me they cannot tell me to drink or not drink alcohol. They cannot tell me if it is safe or not. It is not like I am binge drinking, just a glass of wine or two on the weekends. So if anyone has any information on this I would greatly appreciate it!!! If it is not healthy to do so does anyone know why!!! Thank You!!!

I've tried Meridia a couple of times and found that even a drink or two would give me a wicked hangover while on the medication. Like a totally-not-worth-that-glass-of-wine hangover. Be careful or you'll have day after regrets.

Thanks for the info...I will just be really careful if I do decide to drink a glass of wine or two...Make sure I have nothing to do the next day :) Do you know if it stays in your system...Like if I didn't take it one day because I knew I was going to drink, I wonder if it would still have that effect??? I've heard that you can skip Meridia in the morning if you know you'll be drinking later that day, but haven't experimented. I hate hangovers, so don't want to take the chance.

I actually had to go off of it :mad: I suffer from really bad panic attacks and it was speeding up my heart rate too much. I am so upset because for the few weeks I was on it it was working and it was wonderful!!! I lost 5 pounds in those two weeks. Besides my heart rate speeding up I loved it!!! Hope its continues to work great for you!!!
