Hello All,

For about the last eight months, I have noticed some spots in my vision. These spots look like something in a petri dish. It’s tough to describe but they are like little zigs and zags. They are white. They go rather quickly.

Now, I only see them when it’s light out. It doesn’t have to be really bright but that seems to make it worse. I see them the worst on a plain white or light brown/tan background but I also see them in the blue sky, on the road when I’m driving and other similar situations. They are becoming increasingly noticeable in situations like on a computer or in a bright room like a restroom.

I’ve seen two eye doctors in the last month who have both given me thorough examinations and both told me different things, but have both also said that my eyes are perfectly healthy. One doctor told me they were floaters but they’re not like any other floater I’ve ever had before. The other doctor told me that it was entopic phenomenon however, everything I’ve read says that EP is only on a blue background and mine appears worst on a white or brown background.

It’s been going on in both eyes and, again, doesn’t appear to be happening when it’s not too bright out. Sunglasses seem to help the situation a little bit but I can’t really wear sunglasses while sitting at the computer at work. I’ve scoured the internet and found no disease or problem that seems to have these symptoms. Unfortunately it appears that the problem is getting worse.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I have the exact same thing! I just stopped taking a medicine that can make you more sensitive to light, but I am still getting the floaters, etc. Same exact as you and th Dr says my eye are fine, but a little dry. If you find out anything please let me know. Thanks and take care

Sounds a lot like good old-fashioned floaters to me. If they are, get used to them because they aren't going anywhere.

Your condition is very common. You can get more info by looking up "visual snow" online. We can't post URLs.
