Maybe listing something good about ourselves/ our lives will help some. Everyone list at least 5 things that are going well for you, keep you going, etc. Here are mine:

1. My parents care and are trying to help me as much as possible and in any way that they can.

2. My school load has gotton easier so I'm not as stressed.

3. I have good (non weight) goals that I like working toward and give me hope that I'll be successful, like being a writer, doing volunteer work and getting out of the house/meeting new and good people, I like learning.

4. I do have good genetics and everyone in my family that has had an eating disorder has overcome it by their mid to late 20's, so I have a good chance of beating all this madness.

5. I'm trying some new medication starting tomorrow, wellbrutin along with the prozac, that I really have hope will help.

and 6. I have this board and finally have people who I know understand, won't judge me, I can say anything, and I don't have to compete with. Thanks guys! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi Cloudy and Rachel,
This is a good idea for everyone to do. Possitive focus always helps and is so easy to ignore unfortunately.Ok,so here goes...

1. Have good health and am fit deapite years of ED's.
2. Have a supportive loving husband who is always there for me.
3. Have a good job and love study(psychology)much better than economics degree which is also helpful in a dry way. Love learning in general and anything creative that fuels the imagination.
4.Have a wonderful Mum, brother and family who love me.
5.Have alot of hope and passion about life and it's possibilities.
So, Cloudy you should do some more writing cause you have a good style and you seem to think alot and have and good ideas.
Good luck Rachel with everything.

Okay, here are 5 more things for today:

1. I planted some flower bulbs today and being outside made me feel a bit better

2. I haven't bitten my fingernails in few days

3. I went to church and we had a guest speaker who was handicapped and he was very encouraging. He said that we all go through trials for a reason, and when we lean on God it makes us grow closer to Him. Then, when we recover or come to peace with our problem we are better able to help others. It really made an impact on me.

And 2 successes:

4. I haven't binged/purged in two days!

5. I have gotton at least moderate exercise (walked some and then lifted some weights) the last two days!

I tend to overlook the small but good things, so this helps me to make a list.
