I tried Norvasc and it didn't reduce my blood pressure even 1 point. Everyone is different and you should ask your doctor to put you on another medicine.

Have you tried supplements to help lower your blood pressure?
Thanks,
Michael

I was on 50mg for a year, at night, absolutely out of control BP (which I proceeded to ignore). Then popped to 100mg Toprol twice a day after a really bad incident of pulse spikes and BP spikes. The best that obscene dose got me to was 145/100. So doc switched me to something that works better for me.

However, you might find it difficult to take a Toprol during the day due to side effects. For me it was not workable plus it wasn't getting the BP under control (your mileage may vary). You also need to be a bit cautious with messing with beta-blocker dosing since you'll have to do a taper down to get off it.

Your 135/95 readings are within range of your BP being considered "controlled". Have you asked your doctor what his/her goal for your BP is? If it's 120/80 you might want to have a frank discussion with your doctor on how realistic that is.
