I have been on Cozaar 3wks now, I don't see any really big change like I did on the Enalapril (he took me off because of cough) Took it today was 154/85, I've been better then that on the other. After awhile I feel like a guinia pig!

Hi,
My father was on Cozaar 50 mg for about a year and it was working very good for him. I tried it and I got very tired and dizzy, I tried Norvasc and it didn't reduce my blood pressure even 1 point. So we are all different, I guess you need to change from Cozaar to something else.
Good luck,
Michael

Bill'sgramp,
Cozaar is not a strong drug. You can try splitting it in two and taking it 12 hours apart. It gives a more even coverage over a 24 hour period.
But most people have to take it with a diuretic to get much of an effect.

Lenin,
I remember your saying that about a diuretic & he completely ignored it, I think he was annoyed that we do research on the net, sd stop going with what other people take. I am going to tell him when I go back I want a diuretic w/it. The reason I take it before bed is I work & drive a big truck & it says can make you dizzy etc.

Sometimes, a change in meds is what's needed to bring your BP under control. My doctor had to change my meds twice. Now I take 3 different meds for BP and it seems to be working. One of them is a diuretic- it combined in the Micardis Plus.
