I go days and weeks with eating no more than 1000 calories, sometimes even 700, and then I go days where I totally blow up and eat everything and anything. I'm known for eating so incredibly healthy, but I made cookies the other day, and no joke, ate 12 of them at once. It's so incredibly not like me, When I'm in my correct state of mind, I eat nothing like that. I eat salads and chicken and fruits and rice cakes, hardly any fat, but then I go on these binge things where I eat so horribly and I feel disguisting afterwards. Food turns me into a totally different person! I dont understand how I could go a year with eating perfectly healthy and then snap and eat like crap and at such obsene amounts! I don't know what to do with myself. Even now, I find it hard to eat over 1200 calories a day, when I do, I feel like Ive eaten a truck load worth of stuff. I'm so confused! I dont know whats wrong with me! Im not over weight at all, In fact im perfecty content with my body except for this pouch of fat right below my bellybutton. This little bit of fat has driven me to the point of destruction. Ive done all of this because of it! I even bought Lysine pills to help burn the fat, but if they work, I wouldnt know! I have this mind set that it has to go away, and to make it go away, I can't eat. I never have the time to exercise anymore, because of school and my work, although im a very dedcated athlete and in excellent shape. Someone please tell me what to do!

What you need to do is to go and see a therapist. You definately have an eating disorder and the more control you let it have, the more it will completely take over you and the more difficult it will be to recover.
I know exactly how you feel about your belly. I have the same problem. It never gets better. There is no physical way that you can make it go away. You can accept it or be miserable forever. I got down to 58 lbs at 5'1" and I still thought that if I could just lose 5 or so more pounds that my stomach would be acceptable and THEN I would be happy. Hah!
It will take time to get over this. There is no instant cure. But the sooner you start to work on the problem of you eating disorder and improving your body image, the sooner life will get better. It won't just get better on its own no matter how much you want it to or how much you think that tomorrow you will wake up and be able to have a 'normal' day. Please get help! There are many therapists and couselors that specialize in eating disorders. Do a little calling around and find one that's in your town, then make an appointment with them. If you have health insurance it might pay for some or most of the cost. Either way, getting help is one of the best things that you can spend your money on. Oh, and come here and talk with all of us for support! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I think it's great that you know that eating healthy is important! And it seems like you do a pretty good job of it most of the time. But I think one thing that would help is allowing yourself a little "treat" or fat everyday. This way you won't over do it later and it will help you feel more full. Plus, it helps satisfy your sweet tooth. I do the same thing as you sometimes...you can't go for a very long time without eating something like a cookie, a piece of cake, candy. But go a head and eat one every once in a while. It won't make you gain 20 instent pounds! Good luck! Oh, and I agree with CloudyDaze...getting help is a great way to overcome any eating problem!

I have the belly fat problem, too. You mean it'll never ever go away?

It's impossibly hard to admit, but no it won't. It's just where the body stores fat first so unless you get to where you have no fat (i.e. dead) than you will have a little poodge there. Or I guess if you get lipo but that is so dangerous and looks so painful. A little soft belly and few rolls when you sit down is perfectly normal and no one in their right mind would think it's 'gross'. Look at girls with fab abs. They always either have a big booty or big arms or something. Wherever the fat goes first is the spot on our bodies we don't like, and everyone has one of those spots (except maybe a few really conceited guys! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif)I heard that Elizabeth Hurley even said that she doesn't like her tummy! So I guess that even famous 'beauties' don't think they're right.
