He said that my muscles have grouped so tightly together and are hard as a rock. I can feel exactly what he is talking about. Its ALL over my body, from head to legs. Is this the muscle thing (pain etc) that happens with fibro?
Anything i can do about it?
same problem especially in the shoulder and neck area. very painful. rheumi has given me trigger point injections that miraculously have gotten the pain down to next to nothing in those areas immediately.

Thanks ICC
So these could be a result of fibro, CFS?
I am yet to be diagnosed properly, ive been to 3 doctors each giving me a different dx
1st dr 1) CFS
2) Virus
3) mitosis
Im pretty sure its fibro as i have nearly all the 18 tender points present.
mrmuscle-----i have been in the dx stage for fibro for about 6 mos. outruled MS<RA and lupus. also have several wrok injuries. neck and shoulder are the worse. i guess since rheumi feels i meet al the criteria for fibro he does injections where the pain is the worse. though my neck and shoulder are messed up the injections in the trapezius muscles were like a dream come true. it's been a month and still pain free in that area. neck is starting to act up but am starting aquatic therapy tomorrow which is also great for fibro so i am hoping to have some permanent relief soon.

mrmuscle, i love the name,lol.
well it seems that it takes us like 50 docs before we are actually diagnosed with fibro. i am just glad that there are sites like this for us to vent because here the the real world it seems that no one really wants to hear about how much we hurt.
i am glad that you are getting help from your chiropractor. i actually feel that chiro care has made me a bit worse. i worked for a chiropractor for 6yrs where i also had a work injury, ironic huh? since my injury in 2000 i have seen 7 chiropractors and not one of them have seem to really help. i have also had injections through pain management in my neck and mid back and those didn't even help.
what helps me is yoga, walking and of course pain meds. yoga really helps my tightness that i have and the walking helps with the pain i have in my hips.
the last adjustment i had really made me soar and i was better off before the adjustment. when i am able to afford it i think message will really help. hopefully that will be soon.

High Mr. Muscle:
I had the same issue with a lot of the muscles around my neck, shoulders, back. The doctor gave me trigger point injections, as well as botox injections in certain muscle groups. I also began physical therapy. All three of these protocols helped the muscles to relaxm and I became better in about six months. I had to go to a teaching hospital to obtain this treatment. I'm not sure how common it is for a rhematologist to perform this protocol (I suspect they typically do not).
Blessings,

Try massage by someone who understands FMS and get physical therapy and stay active. Staying active is huge. Try yoga. The stretches will help your body and stress too and minimizing stress will help your FMS. I cannot urge you enough to do yoga.
