hi there and welcome:wave: my pain is pretty bad and i don't work anymore because of it. i do stay home with my kiddos but they are pretty independent.
they have had to learn to do things by themself at such a young age. i think my being sick is come to be a good thing in some ways because my almost 7yr old and my almost 4yr old have told me they want to be doctors. who knows, they might find a cure for fibro.
again welcome to the board and i look foward to hearing your story.

Hi Gem:

Fibro can be very disabling, and it can hinder your normal activities. It was at this point in my life that I began researching treatments and reading up on the condition. Knowledge is power. Search!

Blessings,
Kirstee

Hi Robin

I also cannot work because of my condition. My daughter was nine years old when I got sick. She is now 18. I am presently in rehab (physio and O.T.). Let's hope we get better soon.

All the best,
Gem5

Hi Kirstee,

Is there any treatment that you found particularly helpful? I am presently in a rehab program (physio and O.T.). Nice to hear from you.

All the best,

hello Gem, how is your current treatment going? you know i have been dealing with this for sometime now and nothing really has helped me long term. the only thing that i can say that works are my meds and gentle stretching. sometimes i am in so much pain that that doesn't even work. my legs hurt, my ankles and feet, sometimes i just can't stand it. i know that some people may judge me and say how could i have another baby if i am feeling so bad but you know my kids are the only things that keep me alive and hopeful for the future. they have been through so much with my condition and i have missed out on alot of things but i believe that they are going to grow up to be outstanding, understanding, compassionate adults.
i thank goodness every day that my baby is so healthy and beautiful because during my pregnancy i had to be on pain meds. the pain was unbearable.
she is a handful though. she is now 5 months and is so active and is ready to take off.
well hope you are having a great day and just know that you have friends here.

Hi Gem:

The medication that I use is guafenesin. If you are interested in researching this medication, purchase a book entitled "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia" by Dr. Paul St. Amand. I am on this physician's protocol and I am 80% better. It is a rigorous protocol, but after awhile it becomes second nature, and you do become much better with time.

Blessings,
Kirstee

Welcome Gem, I'm 44 and was diagnosed about a year ago, but have felt this way for years. My symptoms vary day to day so I am still working. I miss a lot of work tho. My kids are grown. Today is a bad day and it seems like every injury I've ever had, every surgery, etc, is hurting. Mainly my neck and spine, from bad discs and DDD, also my shoulder, from a previous surgery, my breast, my ribs, I could go on but I think I made my point. LOL This disease is different for everyone I think. But we all seem to feel our pain worse than we should, like its amplified from the normal person. You'll find a lot of nice people here, and help too.:)
