View Full Version : Sister's in trouble...

My sister is 29 years old. She was married 2 years ago. Her marriage has been less than happy. She can go for over 30 days at a time without having a bowel movement. She recently saw a doctor (who was filling in for her regular doctor) who suggested an emergency colonoscopy. It showed nothing. They give her pills to help her, now they say those pills might be plugging her up, so stop those, and take these. In the meantime, she's in alot of pain. She's gained considerable weight. My question is this: could she possibly be doing this to herself? I was in a bad marriage once, and during counseling, the subject of control came up. It was mentioned that sometimes a woman can only control a bowel movement (even if you think you can starve yourself, a court order can be obtained for a feeding tube). Kids, too, do this, so I was just wondering if it's possible for an adult to do it as well....Any help on this would be appreciated. I don't know if the doctors are missing something here......
