So, today marks day 46 that I have been bleeding!!!!!!!! I am 17 pills into my 3rd pack. Grant it, the first week I started bleeding was heavy but then it was light bleeding/spotting after that first week up until about 18 days ago when I started bleeding heavy again. The past few days have been so bad that, not to be gross, but when I go to pull down my pants to use the toilet, clots are just falling out of me before I can even get on to the toilet!!!!!!!

I have already been to the GYN right before I started taking these pills and had an ultrasound done (blood work, etc.) and they found that I have Adenomyosis. So, I am wondering if maybe that is why I have been bleeding so long? I always had long irregular periods (that's why I'm on YAZ now) but this is getting out of control!

From what I've been reading and what I've been told, I should wait AT LEAST 3 full months on this pill before giving up. Yeah, that's easier said then done. Especially when you've been bleeding for 46 days!!!! I haven't been able to get in touch with the doc but will keep trying.

Has anyone else had prolonged periods on YAZ when you first started? And, if so, how long did it take to regulate itself? Yes, I've been on here before about this same issue but that was a while back. Thanks!!!!!!

Well, i haven't been bleeding that long but had all sorts of weird symptoms while being on the pill. I hated them but i had to take them for PCOS to get rid of the cysts. Those were the worst 6 months of my life. I experienced all the side effects there are from spotting, to cramping, moodiness, hedaches. I was almost always down in the dumps. My breasts hurt and i was retaining water and have always been bloated. These hormones are nasty, i am in no favour of them!

You need your gyn to help you stop these side effects. You may become anemic with so much bleeding. Take some iron supplements.

Thanks. Yes, I have been taking iron because I have been anemic many times in the past. Most times had been when I was on the pill (go figure).

The clots really aren't anything new to me. I always got them with my periods in the past. On or off BCP's. I was just hoping that since I was on the pill, these "problems" would stop. Or at least become less.
