View Full Version : I think I got colon cancer

I don't know why it happened to me, a 31 man. But all the symptoms pushed me to the worst thought. Just two weeks ago, I started to feel pain inside of my tail bone as well as heavy fatigue, even in the morning. I never has these before, only several years of bleeding by hemorrhoid. My friend, a doctor, helped me with an index test and touched something unusual. Then I made an appointment for colonscopy Oct. 12. The continuous symptoms themselves already reduce my life quality. If I got it, I will fight with all brave hearts here. But I would give my best wishes to all of you first!

Even though you have symptoms of colorectal cancer does NOT mean that you have cancer. Symptoms can mimic other problems too. Try to relax and not stress out about it until there is something to stress about. I KNOW this is easier said than done. You made the right decision to have a colonoscopy. This is the ONLY way to know what you are dealing with.

I wish you the best of luck, and please come back and give us your results after your procedure. We will help you through it no matter what the diagnosis.

Hang in there. :)

CD and Alison,
Thanks for your blesses. I passed the colonscopy test yesterday without any obvious problem in intestine. And the doc did that is the best one in my area, who I respect and believe. However he can not guess what the problem, so I need transfer to other department. Indeed, during the waiting time, I tried my best to overcome the fatigue and pain and insist exercise as normal. I personally don't think it was only my worriness caused all those symptoms. So, I will continue to work with it.
I have read a lot of posts in this forum. People are so nice and brave. I admire CD's work for all others with detailed information and encouragement. Life is not easy. This experience let me cherish my later time more.
I pray all people here and give my best wishes for your future.
Alex

I'm SO happy for you that your colonoscopy came back clear!!!:jester:

I'm sorry though that your problem has NOT yet been determined. I don't recall whether you had a CT scan, but am guessing that and blood work would be your next step. I wish you the BEST of luck!:)

Fondly,
CD

PS, thanks for the kind words! EVERYONE here is VERY special and has much to offer. Please DO come back and let us know when you DO finally figure out what is going on. ;)

Blacksburg, VA gave it away haha. I am from Richmond myself and a huge Hokie fan. Frank Beamer is a relative.

Versailles,

We have had board members here as young as 15 or 16 and all the way up to parents and grandparents in their 80's. If you are having symptoms, please go see a GI and request a colonoscopy. Do NOT anyone tell you that "you can't get colorectal cancer at your age."

Good luck,
Cats

Thanks to the encourage of CD, I still need more tests for my spine in future.

Normally, people get colon caner later than 40. However, the tendency is toward younger people. As I know, a statistical data from my native city in China shows that more than 10 percent patients are around or younger than 30. So, this is why I am so worry about my situation.

Oh wow...*gulp* I've been avoiding going to the doctor for quite some time now, cuz I'm younger...but I really think I need to go. My friend was just diagnosed with colon cancer not long ago...and what's going on with me is almost a mirror image...and excrutiatingly painful I might add. It doesn't help that I'm almost collapsing with exhaustion at this point.

I'm definitely getting myself to the doctor now! Hopefully it's something else, but I guess if it is, at least treatments are getting better these days...I'll just try to stay positive.

thanks everyone.
And thanks for posting this subject Alexa!
And good luck to all!

Vers,
I am glad you have a positive attitude, and a right one. You are the only person know what happened to your body. Some medical knowledge is also necessary to avoid potential misdiagnose by doc's common sense when the patient is really special from normal statistic data.
Good luck for your health!
Alex
