View Full Version : Anyone know a good sugar wax recipe?

Ive been trying to make my own sugar wax for sugaring (waxing). I know the main ingredients are sugar, lemon juice, a little water, and sometimes honey. Does anyone have any experience making their own? I want to know how exactly to cook it, possibly using a candy thermometer.

I bought and love Nair's roll on sugar wax but the bottle runs out quite quick (I even only did half my leg). I want to learn how to make my own sugar wax so I can just refill it myself at a much friendlier price. Anyone help?

IF i remember correctly, my mom would place the sugar in a frying pan, add a little of lemon juice and cook it until it turns gold.. U have to do alot of stirring, and be careful because it will rise. than she would put bit of water on the counter and dumb the wax on the water "you have to be careful". she would pick the sugar wax and strech it with her hands before it gets cold "its the most important part" she would just keep streching until it gets nice and soft. Hope that helped, its been a while since i have watched her make it

Is that the method to cook it where you wouldnt put the wax on with a stick but actually use it like a putty and stretch it over your skin then pull off?
