I had a tubal in June, I have had some serious depression bouts, mood swings, and just feeling not myself. I got married last month, and before my vacation I took some birth control pills to make sure my period didn't come, the only thing about it is, the birth control pills made me feel like myself again, the moodswings were gone, the depression vanished. The question I have is, Is it ok to take birth control after having a tubal ? thanks for all your help

In order to start birth control pills, you should always consult a gynecologist. ALhtough most girls and women start taking bc pills on their own, they should be examined first to see if their liver is up for it. This is what i have been told by my gyn. YOu are probably suffering from some kind of post tubal syndrome and although it is said that tubal shouldn't be causing such side effects and that you would have normal hormonal levels and normal ovulation, it obviously isn't so because you have been expereincing symptoms similar to hormonal fluctations and decrease and the extra hormones from bc pills are being helpful.

I suggest you talked to your gyn or a doc who performed the tubal and tell them everything you told us and see what they ahve to say about it.
