yeah willc, it comes with the territory. I don't know why dehydration comes with fibro. But I get it. I think the what's wrong with me a lot of the times. The dehydration is a whoa, u know what. Also it's hard to get my body to absorb water cause all I do is release it all right back out after I drink.

this is interesting. i didn't know that dehydration was part of FM. perhaps i've (possibly) had FM longer than i thought.

about 3 years ago, i was up all night, with terrible panics. the weird part of it was that i had to go to the bathroom every half an hour, and i could not stop going. in the end, i was shaking so much and really freaked out, that i ended up in the ER. they put an IV in me. my pulse was over 100, but everything else was normal, aside from being dehydrated.

they told me i'd had a panic attack, but i've had panic disorder since a child, and this was not one of my classic attacks - this was something else. i'm wondering now if it was FM.

i've been through episodes with my fibro exactly how you described yours. It would last for a few days and then taper off. I had the constant urinating especially at night which caused me to be severely dehydrated. Yes dehydration can be a part of fibro. Not always but it can be. Find immune support dot com. There is very good information there in their library about the symptoms of fibro. In general they have very good information there. I reccommend the info there that's all.

Fibro & CFS are often associated with endocrine malfunctions. The ability of one's body to retain water, to concentrate urine, is ultimately the result of endocrine hormones acting on the kidney.

Anyone having ongoing problems with dehydration, frequent urination, should pursue testing for both diabetes insipidus (NOT related to the more common sugar diabetes) as well as adrenal function testing -- an ACTH stim test being the most revealing.

It's not uncommon to have garden-variety docs brush off such requests for testing, because they are schooled to believe such disorders are rare (therefore you couldn't have it), or because they are unfamiliar with the tests. If that's your doc, network to find one who will take your symptoms seriously.

Best wishes.

i'm one huge endocrine disorder LOL!

also found out two weeks ago that i am probably pre-diabetic ('normal' in women with pcos). my fasting glucose was 110. now i'm on metformin 1900mg p/day.
