I'm young and I've been putting up with the occasional monthly zit and taking very good care of my skin for the past 2 years. Recently my skin has become oilier, so I switched from Deep Clean to Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash. It's helping a little, but my toner isn't working well. Halfway through the day my skin is shiny and oily again!! At the beginning of the week I woke up with one zit, the next day two, and today I have 4! Never had so many at once. I'm worried about using too much stuff, I don't want to sport the red, salicylic acid ODd look. LOL But I don't want to not use enough to control the oil. They're going away because I've been taking care of it but I know now that it's time for a new toner...lol
Thanks!:)

I HIGHLY recommend Burt's Bees Garden Tomato toner. It's for oily skin.......it controls oil, redness, and has been helping control my breakouts. Sometimes it doesn't always keep all the oil away ALL day if I've had a long day, but then all you have to do is just use a blotter sheet or something.
This is by far the best toner I've used......I plan on actually sticking with it, and I tend to try tons of different products. :)

I personally could swear by Dermalogica products! I have always had an oily problem skin with breakouts. Then I had enough and went for a consultation with a beautician, She used Dermalogica products and recommended ones for my skin to buy. My skin has improved so much!
It's abit pricey but I'll stick with it from now on!

Thanks! I had actually considered the Burt's Bees tomato stuff, where do you get it other than their website? :)

Well, my college sells it, so that's where I get mine. However, when I'm not at college, the best place to get Burt's Bees products are definitely organic/health food stores. Some drugstores sell them, but organic places are your best bet. :)

Dermalogica have an excellent "moisturiser" called "oil control lotion". It contains tiny micro sponges that absorb oil all day. I would recomend this rather than a toner for best results. This product really works!

IF YOUR SKIN IS OILY BECAUSE OF DRYNESS AND NOT OILY BECAUSE IT JUST IS OILY THE BURTS BEES WILL MAKE IT WORSE=THE GARDEN TOMATO TONER HAS ALCHOHOL IN IT AND ITS VERY DRYING FOR SKIN,. IF YOUR SKIN ISNT VERY OILY AND IF ITS OILY BECAUSE ITS DRY THIS WILL MAKE IT WORSE CAUSING MORE OIL...........
THE BEST WAY TO GO IS TO USE WITCH HAZEL OR TRY PAULAS CHOICE FINAL TOUCH TONER ( GET ONLINE)CUZ IT WONT OVERDRY YOUR SKIN. IF YOU ARE REALLY REALLY OILY THAT IS THE ONLY TIME I WOULD SAY YOU SHOULD USE THE BURTS BEES, AND I MEAN THAT IF YOU WASH YOUR FACE YOUR SKIN IS OILY A HALF HOUR LATER........TONERS THAT HAVE ALOT OF DRYING INGREDIENTS IN THEM CAN MAKE YOUR SKIN WORSE SO KNOW WHAT KIND OF SKIN Y OU HAVE BEFORE YOU DO IT. BTW, DRYING TONERS WILL MAKE YOUR SKIN LOOK AND FEEL BETTER FOR A LITTLE WHILE BUT IF YOU DONT HAVE TEH RITE KIND OF SKIN THEY WILL EVENTUALLLY MAKE IT WORSE.

I just plain Apple Cider Vinegar and water. 1 part acv to 3 parts water. Works great for me, plus seems to fade old acne scars.

Look for oil controlling moisturizers or lotions. The one's I used to use have been discontinued and my skin isn't oily anymore, so I don't have a recommendation. But try biore, Corn Silk/Sally Hansen, Neutrogena. I used to use a mattifying gel by Neutrogena called for some reason, Pore Refining Lotion, but I think it's been discontinued.

Have you ever used Burt's Bees Garden Tomato toner? If so, have you checked the ingredients list?: this toner contains SD Alcohol 40-B (from yellow corn) which is a specially denatured alcohol acceptable for use in cosmetics. There are MANY different kinds of alchol, and it's isopropyl that tends to be drying, or un-denatured ethyl alcohol.......feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never had a drying problem with this toner. The only reason I can think of that it would be drying is if the skin wasn't oily, because after all, it is an "oil-control" toner. :)

We don't have a health store anymore but there's one about half an hour away. I think i'm just going to get the Burts Bees Garden Tomato Complexion Soap next time i'm up there. I need a new cleanser anyways. As for toner, i'm still undecided. lol Thank you so much for all your replies!!

I like the soap as well (although I wish they had it in something other than a bar form), but the toner is still my favorite. Good luck! :)

It might take you a few days to get used to it....at first I found the "fresh" smell to be a bit overwhelming, but now I don't notice it much.

I actually love the scent!! lol It's a little strong but it reminds me of summer because of it's fresh tomato smell. And I love the toner, it's controling oil nicely and not drying out my skin.
Thanks sooo much!!!
