Does anyone know if the doc assesses your esophagus and stomach during an ERCP, or does he just skip to the ducts and ignore those?

Most likely he/she will assess your esophagus to check for varices and the stomach for gastritis.

as long as the opportunity is there,they will usually also inspect all areas that they are seeing on the way in and out.pretty thorough.good luck,and let us know how it all goes,K?marcia
