View Full Version : Question about Metformin

My doctor recently switched my medications from Actos to Metformin. I have taken one 500mg pill for about 4 days and my doctor told me to add another after about a week. I don't know a whole lot about the medication, but I am running fairly low (80-110) and don't know if it would be a wise thing to add another 500mg pill. Would taking another pill give me even lower bg levels or will it just help to even it out more? Please let me know what you think and anyone on the medication please tell me what you know about your experiences on it. Thanks! :)

I would report your blood sugar readings to your MD and ask if he still wants you to add another pill. I would say because you are responding so well to the medication he will say no, as another pill will drop your blood sugars even more.
