During a routine pelvic exam and cervical smear test, the nurse commented that I had a bowel prolapse into my vagina.

I have had past problems with my bowel (small bowel obstruction needing a bowel resection) plus chronic diarreah for many months afterwards, now I am worried about this.

What if any problems can this cause? I keep reading about fistulas and wonder if due to my past history I should ask to see the colo rectal surgeon again any comments /advice is much appreciated
