I have been on 3 different types of pills in the last year.. and nothing has worked. I either skip periods, get them late, barley have them, can't lose weight.. its so frustrating.. nothing is working for my body and I'm so sick of putting hormones inside me.

My doc suggested the copper IUD because it has no hormones. She said it is more effective than the pill, and the only side effects are heavier, crampier periods.. I figure I can deal with that if it actually works..

she also said when we decided to get pregnant, it should come easily

..ive been doing a lot of research trying to figure out what to do, and I've read the some people get pregnant with the IUD in them and then they don't know if there baby is going to be normal or have complications?

I've also heard that women who want children and havent' ever had children should not take it. BUt my doc never said anything about that. ??

SO, im confused now. Anyone have any experience with this? any suggestions? Thanks..

Hi,

I was in the same boat as you. I was on the pill with no problems and then switched to Depo and had tons of problems. My doctor also suggest having the Pargaurd IUD instead but i was worried since i haven't had any chidren that i couldn't have a IUD. I have had it for over a year and no problems at all. My periods are still the same before any BC. It's 99 % effective, the only side effect besides periods being longer and heavier is that in the first few months it can be expel. The procedure only took about 5 mins and i only had a few sharp pains and it was all done. You just got to make sure that you check for your strings each month. Usually i can feel them a couple days before my period so i now it's still there. I hope this helps and good luck on what you choose.:)
